Full Form of NDRF: National Disaster Response Force

NDRF Stands for National Disaster Response Force. NDRF is a specialized unit of the Indian Armed Forces that is tasked with providing immediate response and relief during times of national emergencies and disasters.

It is part of the Indian Armed Forces and is headed by a senior officer from the Indian Army. It was formed in response to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami and is headquartered in Delhi. The NDRF has regional headquarters in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai

The NDRF force was formed in 2005 with a paramilitary lines force of 12 battalions consisting of 3 BSF, 3 CRPF, 2 CISF, 2 ITBP, and 2 SSB forces.

NDRF Recruitment Process

There are twelve battalions in the NDRF, which is a paramilitary line force. Three BSF battalions, two CRPF battalions, two CISF battalions, two ITBP battalions, and two SSB battalions make up the force.

Their mission is to help people in disaster-affected areas during times of disaster. Once you pass the 12th exam, you can be recruited into the NDRF by the SSB, ITBP, or CRPF.

NDRF Training

SSB, ITBP, or CRPF personnel are trained for the NDRF after serving in their battalion for three to four years. Special training is provided to all special forces who qualify.

They are selected for NDRF after completing training. Whenever there is a disaster in India, at that time these jawans have to help the people in the affected areas.
